Prosecco Hills wine tours from Venice and Treviso
Twenty tours, 35 to 550 EUR, median 164. The most reviewed one starts at Conegliano station with the train from Venice in the price, and three operators hold 74% of the reviews.
The most reviewed Prosecco Hills tour does not start in Venice. It starts at Conegliano station, costs 189 EUR, and includes the train ticket from Venice in the price. That one listing also holds 585 of the category's 1,913 reviews, so the most visible number on any Prosecco tour search is one operator's answer to the transport problem. This page compares the 20 Prosecco listings with each other: who runs them, what the price includes, where they start and what a tasting costs at the estate door. For Prosecco against Valpolicella, see the Veneto page.
Prices are per person as the provider lists them, read on 30 September 2026. A few private tours are priced for a party instead, and the text says which. All 20 listings are sold through Viator, by 15 operators, and the gap between the cheapest and the dearest, 35 to 550 EUR, is explained by the next sections rather than by the wine. The photographs on this page are stock images of the zone, not of the tours. I read the full itinerary of six of them, including the two most reviewed, because a title like 'Prosecco wine tour' can mean a two-hour tasting or a ten-hour circuit with a castle in it. Where a fact below comes from one itinerary rather than from all 20, the text says 'the listings I read'.

Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
Three operators hold three quarters of the reviews
One listing has 585 reviews. The same operator's second listing adds 18, which brings it to 603 of 1,913, or 32%. Another operator has three listings and 425 reviews; a third has one listing and 392. Together those three operators hold 74% of everything written about the category, and their tours sit between 139 and 189 EUR, around the median.
That matters for how you read the 4.96 rating. It is a weighted figure, and a weighted figure over so few voices mostly measures three businesses. It is not a bad number, only a narrow one. Nineteen of the 20 listings rate 4.8 or higher, and the exception, at 4.6, has 18 reviews. Twelve of the 20 have fewer than 50 reviews.
When three operators hold 74% of the reviews, the category rating tells you about them. For the other 14 listings, read the itinerary, not the stars.
What is in the glass at the end
Every tour here ends in Prosecco, mostly Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG from the hills and, for a few, the wider Prosecco DOC. The DOC may use Glera for at least 85% of the blend and covers nine provinces. The hill DOCG is what the estates around Valdobbiadene make, and two of the listings I read name Cartizze, the single hill above the town whose wine is bottled on its own.
The method is usually Charmat, a second fermentation in a tank, which one of the listings explains during the visit. Some hill estates also make a sui lieviti style that ferments in the bottle. The listings count the glasses, which is more honest than most: 3 and 3 in one, 4 and 4 in another, 3 and 4 in a third.
What the price buys
Most of the 20 cluster in one corner of the chart: four to seven hours and 100 to 190 EUR. Inside that corner the differences are lunch and the number of tastings, not length. The median for the 13 lunch tours is 170 EUR. The shared tours that skip lunch sit between 105 and 222 EUR and run 4 to 10 hours.
Two points sit far above the pack, both private at 400 EUR. One is a 5.5-hour tour for two guests from Conegliano station with three wineries and lunch, so 200 EUR each, and it is the cleanest private deal on the page. The other is an eight-hour private day from Venice with lunch; the listing doesn't state whether 400 EUR is per person or for the party. The 550 EUR point is a shared day with 12 reviews. Bottom left are the three tastings at 35, 50 and 59 EUR, each one winery and up to two hours, at the winery's own door.
Four listings side by side
| Listing | Price and length | Where it starts | Wineries and glasses | Lunch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A sparkling day in the Prosecco hills | 189 EUR, 7 h | Conegliano station, Venice train included | 2 wineries, 4 and 4 | Four courses, included |
| From Venice: Prosecco region, 2 tastings | 169 EUR, 6 h | Piazzale Roma, Venice | 2 wineries, 3 and 3 | Light lunch, included |
| Day trip from Venice and Treviso | 159 EUR, 10 h | Piazzale Roma at 9:15, Treviso at 10:00 | 2 wineries, 3 and 4, plus a Cartizze walk | Not included; free time in Conegliano |
| Private Prosecco Road tour for 2 guests | 400 EUR, 5.5 h | Conegliano station at 10:00 | 3 wineries | Light lunch, included |
Put side by side, the four answer different questions. The 189 EUR day is the one to book if you want the wine to be the whole day and the logistics solved. The 169 EUR day is the same shape with a smaller lunch. The 159 EUR ten-hour day looks cheapest until you notice that it spends part of the afternoon in Conegliano's streets and leaves you to buy lunch. And the private tour costs two people 200 EUR each for one more winery and a driver who adapts to you.
Five starting points, not one
| Start named in the title | Listings | Price range | What to expect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venice | 9 | 99 to 400 EUR, median 159 | Meeting points I read were Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto, not the hotel |
| Conegliano | 2 | 170 and 400 EUR | Station square, 10:00 start, both private |
| Treviso | 1 | 169 EUR | Pickup in Treviso, sommelier-led |
| Padua | 1 | 222 EUR | 6 hours, no lunch listed |
| No city in the title | 7 | 35 to 550 EUR | Three single-winery tastings, the rest hill days |
Venice is not one starting point either. The listings I read meet at Piazzale Roma (9:15 in one case, with a second pickup in Treviso at 10:00), at the Tronchetto vaporetto stop, or at Conegliano station with a train ticket included. A pickup option is listed for just 3 of the 20, and the top-rated listing puts hotel pickup under not included. The useful question is not 'does it leave from Venice' but 'where do I stand at nine in the morning'.
The steep part of the tour
Much of the zone is slope, and the itineraries are built around it. One private tour promises the steepest hill in Valdobbiadene, another stops at a viewpoint above Susegana, a third walks among the Cartizze vines. The UNESCO file singles out the grassy terraces called ciglioni, which covered about a fifth of the area in 2015. Bring shoes for slopes, not for a tasting room.
Access is worth a question before you book. Only one listing I read, the 50 EUR single-winery tasting, states that it is wheelchair accessible, and the top-rated day says infants can ride in a pram. The rest don't say, and a vineyard walk is not the same as a tasting room.
The estate door against the listing
| Estate | Tasting | Length | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bisol, Valdobbiadene | The Classics | 30 min | 14 EUR |
| Bisol, Valdobbiadene | The Crus | 45 min | 19 EUR |
| Bisol, Valdobbiadene | Tour and tasting, Classics | 1 h 30 | 20 EUR |
| Bortolomiol | Tasting in every sense | Not stated | 22 EUR |
| Villa Sandi | Superiore experience | Not stated | 25 EUR |
| Bortolomiol | Art and Nature, 2 to 15 people | Not stated | From 30 EUR |
| Villa Sandi | Masterclass Wine Expert | Not stated | 55 EUR |
A standard tasting at the door runs 14 to 30 EUR, and a masterclass 55. The single-winery listings cost 35 to 59 EUR. The difference is what the listing adds: booking in English, sometimes a guide, sometimes food. Whether that is worth paying depends on whether you have a way of reaching the estate, because the estates want a booking either way.
Choosing among the twenty
Four questions sort the list. First, where do you stand at nine in the morning: a station, a bus terminus or your hotel? Second, is lunch a meal or a snack? 'Four-course lunch at a family osteria', 'light lunch' and 'lunch optional, not included' all appear in the same price band. Third, how many tastings: two wineries with three or four wines each is the norm, and only the private from Conegliano does three. Fourth, how many people share the vehicle: the listings I read cap at 8, 11 or 12, and the 11-seat day runs ten hours.
Ask what you stand next to at nine o'clock, and what is on the plate at one.
If the answer to the first question is 'Venice, no car', the half-day options are fewer than you would hope. The shortest shared tours start at four hours and 105 EUR, so most people end up choosing between a lunch day at 150 to 190 EUR and a tasting at the estate door. The rest of the region, including the Amarone side, is on the Veneto page. The Amarone half days from Verona are on the page for Valpolicella and Amarone wine tours.
Questions about Prosecco Hills wine tours
Can I do a Prosecco tour from Venice without a car?
Yes. The most reviewed listing includes the train to Conegliano in its 189 EUR price, and several others meet at Piazzale Roma. A pickup option is listed for only 3 of the 20, so plan on getting yourself to a bus terminus or a station.
Is lunch included?
In 13 of the 20. The wording varies a great deal: one listing serves four courses at a family osteria, another a light lunch, and a ten-hour day at 159 EUR lists lunch as optional and not included. Read the inclusions rather than the title.
How many wineries and tastings should I expect?
Two wineries is the norm, with three or four wines in each. The listings I read count the glasses as 3 and 3, 4 and 4, or 3 and 4. The private tour for two from Conegliano visits three wineries. The single-winery tastings at 35 to 59 EUR are one.
Is a private tour worth 400 EUR?
One of the two is 400 EUR for two guests, so 200 EUR each, for three wineries, lunch and 5.5 hours. That is fair if privacy matters. The shared days at 150 to 190 EUR include the same lunch and two wineries, so for most people they are the better value.
Can children come?
It depends on the listing. One day from Venice bars children under 14; the top-rated day is described as suitable for all fitness levels and allows prams. The listings I read did not agree, so check the age rule before you book.
How much does a tasting cost without a tour?
Standard tastings on the estates' own pages run 14 to 30 EUR, and a masterclass 55 EUR. The single-winery listings here cost 35 to 59 EUR, which buys the booking platform, a guide and sometimes food. You still need to get to Valdobbiadene.
Prosecco or Amarone?
The Veneto page sets these 20 tours against the 20 from Verona, with the train times between the two cities.
