Uco Valley Wine Tours: A Long Day, Priced in Two Different Ways
Twenty listings from 40 to 450 EUR, median 251. Only two cost less than 100 EUR, and both leave tastings and lunch for you to pay.
Only two of the 20 Uco Valley wine tours cost less than 100 EUR, and neither is what the price suggests. One is a 40 EUR hop-on bus that runs for eleven hours and leaves tastings and lunch to you. The other is a 72 EUR excursion whose own description says tasting and lunch are not included, even though its inclusion list names the winery and the lunch. Everything else starts at 161 EUR and climbs to 450 EUR. The valley is about 100 km from Mendoza, so this is a long day in any format, and 16 of the 20 listings are private. This page explains what the drive costs, what the price leaves out, and where the ratings change. For the wider picture of Mendoza, the Mendoza page is the place to start.
Uco has 901 reviews, against 2,253 for Luján de Cuyo and Maipú and 272 for the private page. The ratings are high, so the useful information is in the pattern of the exceptions, which we set out below with the review counts that stand behind them.

Ratings collected by Viator, Tripadvisor and Civitatis
Uco Valley wine tours: twenty listings on a long day
The chart has very little slope. Twelve of the twenty listings run eight hours or more, and their median is 262.5 EUR, but inside that band prices run from 40 to 450 EUR. A 6-hour private tour with Adora Mendoza costs 448 EUR, more than most of the 8- and 9-hour days. Length does not sort the listings; what sorts them is whether the vehicle is shared and what is left outside the price.
Half of the page sits between 211 and 298 EUR. The four cheapest and the two dearest are the ones that need explaining.
| Listing | Price | Hours | Lunch | Reviews and rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Southern Uco Valley Wine Tour (hop-on bus) | 40 EUR | 11 | No | 13, 4.6 |
| Uco Valley and Cordon del Plata | 72 EUR | 8 | Listed, drink extra | 12, 4.9 |
| Wine Tour in Huentala Wines, from Mendoza | 197 EUR | 8.5 | Yes | 21, 5.0 |
| Uco Valley Gourmet Wine Tour | 296 EUR | 8 | Yes | 18, 4.9 |
The 40 EUR bus follows a fixed route and names three stops, including Bodega Zuccardi Valle de Uco, and departs from 7:55 am. The ticket does not give access to the wineries or include wine tastings, though it gives special rates on them. The 72 EUR excursion goes to the village of Tupungato, the organic winery Jean Bousquet, the 28-metre Cristo Rey del Valle monument and the Manzano Histórico, where General San Martín is said to have rested under an apple tree. It ends with a creole lunch at La Juntada. That is a scenic day with one winery, which is fine, but it is not what the other nineteen sell.
What a private Uco day is made of
The clearest itinerary on the page belongs to the 241 EUR Uco Valley day with a private driver, which has 149 reviews at 4.9. The car picks you up in Mendoza, runs south along Route 40 and turns west into the valley, which the operator puts at 1 hour 15 minutes. You visit three wineries: two for a guided visit and a premium tasting of four or five wines, and a third for a multi-course lunch with wine. The car is back in the city around 5:30 pm.
The itinerary lists six possible wineries and says which three you see depends on availability, your interests and language. That is how most of the private listings work: the page shows the pool, and the day is assembled around it. Up to four travelers are allowed on that booking.
Who pays for lunch and tastings
Sixteen of the 20 listings include lunch, and their median price is 251 EUR. The four that do not have a median of 344.5 EUR, which looks backwards until you read them: the 40 EUR bus, the 241 EUR driver listing, the 448 EUR Adora tour and a 450 EUR private tour sold through Civitatis. The two dearest list no lunch at all.
The 241 EUR driver listing says so directly. Its inclusion list is private transport, bottled water and a vehicle. Its exclusion list names wine tastings, Salentein and Domaine Bousquet fees, and lunch. The operator's own estimate for tastings and lunch is around 150 USD per person, which for a car of four is 600 USD on top of the 241 EUR. The valley's dearest day is therefore not necessarily the dearest listing.
| Listing | Headline price | Leaves out | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uco Valley Day Wine Tour with Private Driver | 241 EUR | Tastings, Salentein and Bousquet fees, lunch | The listing's own Not included list |
| Southern Uco Valley Wine Tour (bus) | 40 EUR | Winery access, tastings, lunch | The listing's own Not included list |
| Uco Valley and Cordon del Plata | 72 EUR | Tasting and lunch, says the description | The description; the inclusion list disagrees |
Boutique operators price the same valley per head
Two local operators sell Uco to small groups at prices that are easy to compare with ours. On their own websites on 30 September 2026, Ampora (mendozawinetours.com) lists the Uco day at 215 USD for groups of up to seven, and Trout and Wine (troutandwine.com) lists eight hours at 220 USD for groups of up to nine, both per person. Against them, a 241 EUR private car for four works out at about 60 EUR per person before tastings and lunch. Neither page spells out the tasting fees, so read the comparison as one of scale.
A per-person price with the day included and a per-booking price without it are two different kinds of number. Compare them as a total for your party.
Tasting is most of the product
On the driver listing the operator puts a visit and tasting at Domaine Bousquet at about 25 USD and one at Salentein at about 30 USD, each for four or five wines. A four-course lunch at Andeluna is about 85 USD. That is a tasting-led day, with the bodegas doing most of the work.
It also explains why the itineraries are so similar. The operators are choosing among the same handful of estates in the valley, around Tupungato and Tunuyán, and differ mostly in which lunch they book. In the listings we opened, the names that recur are Salentein, Domaine Bousquet, Andeluna, La Azul and, on the bus, Zuccardi.
Three Salentein listings and their ratings
The ratings on this page run between 4.4 and 5.0, and they are low only where three listings share a name. The three that put Salentein in the title carry 74 reviews at a weighted 4.47: a 242 EUR day with lunch at La Azul at 4.6 (27 reviews), a 339 EUR luxury day at 4.4 (25) and a 161 EUR four-hour day with two more wineries at 4.4 (22). The other 17 listings carry 827 reviews at a weighted 4.93.
We cannot say why. Seventy-four reviews is a small base, and the three come from three different operators, so it is not one company's problem. It may be that a named, well-known estate attracts higher expectations, or it may be noise. The safe reading is that the most famous name in the valley is not the best predictor of a good day, and that the 5.0 listings with fewer than 20 reviews are not proof either.
Five operators hold 68% of the reviews
Uco has 18 operators, and five of them hold 615 of the 901 reviews. Mendoza Wineries Tour has 149, which is 17%, all on the 241 EUR driver day. Agencia Sineus has 132, Adora Mendoza has 128, Trout and Wine Tours has 117 and Mendoza Andes 4x4, also trading as The Tintos, has 89. Each of the five has a private car at its centre, and their prices run from 215 to 448 EUR. The remaining 13 operators share 286 reviews.
How to choose in the Uco Valley
Decide first whether you want to be driven or to be guided. The 40 EUR bus is a timetable, and the 72 EUR excursion is a sightseeing day with one winery. Nearly everything from 161 EUR upward is a private car and a tasting-led day, and the decision there is the lunch: a restaurant at a large estate, or a smaller place with a set menu. Ask which three estates are planned before you book, because the pool is the same and the order is not.
Three mistakes are common. Comparing the 241 EUR listing with a 265 EUR one as if both include lunch. Counting a per-booking price as per-person, which matters most for a couple. And assuming that the dearest listing has the longest day: the 448 EUR tour runs six hours. We print no drink-driving limit because we have not confirmed it against the law itself; a private car removes the question.
Questions about Uco Valley wine tours
Can I visit the Uco Valley without a car?
Not on your own. The bus at 40 EUR runs to fixed wineries and leaves tasting fees to you, and a group excursion at 72 EUR covers Tupungato and one winery. A private car or a guide is the route to several estates. Forum posts say Uco needs a vehicle, unlike Maipú.
How far is it from Mendoza city?
About 100 km along Route 40. The provincial tourism site puts it at 90 minutes, and one operator at 1 hour 15 minutes, so allow up to an hour and a half each way.
Is lunch included?
In 16 of the 20 listings it is. The exceptions are the bus, the 241 EUR driver listing and two private tours at 448 and 450 EUR.
Are the private prices per person?
No, they are for the booking. The 241 EUR driver day allows up to four travelers. Check the limit in each listing before you divide.
Is the Uco Valley better than Luján de Cuyo?
It is a different day. Uco is further and dearer, with a tasting-led itinerary; Luján and Maipú are close to the city and cheaper. The Luján de Cuyo and Maipú page sets out that side.
How far ahead should I book?
Forum posts we read suggest that Uco estates want a booking where Maipú can often be done on the day. On a private listing the operator makes the bookings, so settle your date first.
Prefer to stay close to the city?
Luján de Cuyo and Maipú are 18 and 20 km away, and seven of their twenty tours cost 78 EUR or less.
The private Mendoza page covers the car-and-driver market across all three zones.
