Clos de los Siete
Bodega Diamandes, in the Clos de los Siete vineyard, opens the day. It won a trophy for best winery in the world for its architecture and gardens, and it uses the most modern winemaking technology. The tasting is 5 wines and 3 cheeses, with the winery's secrets explained. Wineries may change with availability; the itinerary is an example that is followed as closely as possible.
Bodega Piedra Negra
Piedra Negra is the first estate of the Uco Valley, guided by the Lurton family. For 22 years it has made fine whites from uncommon varietals (Tokaj, Pinot Grigio, Viognier) and elegant reds. The tasting covers its best wines, some of them vintage, on a terrace over Los Chacayes. Wineries may change with availability.
Lunch at El Hornero, La Morada
On the way back to Mendoza, lunch is at La Morada, at El Hornero, a contemporary fire-cooking restaurant built around local ingredients, with a view of the Andes. Wineries may change with availability.
