Priorat wine tours from Barcelona, and city tastings
Twenty tours from 22 to 645 EUR. Only seven reach the Priorat and only one takes a shared group there from Barcelona.
Of the 20 listings on this page, seven actually visit the Priorat, and they hold only 25% of the reviews. Five sail or cycle to Alella on the coast and hold 45%. Seven are tastings inside Barcelona and hold 30%. One goes to the Pla de Bages. The title promises the Priorat, and the page that carries it is mostly a Barcelona afternoon. That is the first thing to know about Priorat wine tours from Barcelona, and the reason the median of 86.50 EUR is not a price anyone pays: the city tastings cost 22 to 59 EUR bar one private at 358, the Alella days 83 to 260, and the Priorat itself 25 to 645. This page reads each of the four groups separately.
The weighted rating, 4.75, is the lowest of the three sister pages. One sailing day with 436 reviews at 4.5 accounts for most of the gap. We read the itinerary and included list for the listings below; where a detail is missing we say so.

What the 20 listings actually are
| Group | Listings | Price | Length | Reviews | Median price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visit the Priorat | 7 | 25 to 645 EUR | 1.5 to 12 hours | 394 (25%) | 195 EUR |
| Sail or cycle to Alella | 5 | 83 to 260 EUR | 4 to 7 hours | 720 (45%) | 137 EUR |
| Tasting inside Barcelona | 7 | 22 to 358 EUR | 1 to 2.5 hours | 482 (30%) | 50 EUR |
| Pla de Bages, wine and olive oil | 1 | 405 EUR | 6 hours | 7 | 405 EUR |
Read in that order, the table is a map of the wrong expectation. Someone who books the most reviewed listing expecting the Priorat gets a sailboat. It is a good afternoon and carries 436 reviews, but it lands at a winery in Alella, a denomination on the coast just north of Barcelona, and it never leaves the coast. Someone who wants the Priorat has seven choices, and only one of them starts in Barcelona with a shared group.
The chart shows the structure without the labels. Bar one private tasting at 358 EUR, everything at one to three hours costs 22 to 90 EUR. Four to six hours marks the coast days, at 83 to 137 EUR. Above six hours the page is almost all private, and the only shared dot at ten hours is the Priorat day at 195 EUR. The long private days, at 480 EUR for 12 hours and 645 EUR for 10, sit at the top of the scale.

The one shared Priorat day from Barcelona
Wino Tours takes up to eight people to three small family wineries in a full day and collects you in Barcelona, Tarragona or Sitges. It opens at Sangenis i Vaqué in Porrera, where the first tasting includes old vintages, among them a Monlleó with more than ten years of age. It moves to Clos Figueras in Gratallops for lunch and to Celler Devinssi, also in Gratallops, for the last tasting among vines more than a century old.
The price is 195 EUR and the small print matters. Lunch is not included: it costs 29 EUR with water, 33 with a glass, or 45 EUR with four paired wines. Tastings are included at the first and third cellars only. Children under 12 are not allowed, and the listing advises against it for pregnant travellers and people with spinal or heart conditions. It has 162 reviews at a flat 5.0, which says that people who go are happy and that the day is small.
Fourteen operators sit behind the 20 listings, and three of them carry 53% of the reviews: World Experience, Wino Tours and Spanish Trails. Scores of 5.0 on 162 reviews and 4.4 on 22 do not weigh the same, so read the count before the rating.
The private days at 480 and 645 EUR cover much the same ground with lunch included. The 480 EUR day adds Celler Pasanau in La Morera de Montsant and a three-course lunch with wine at Clos Figueras. The 260 EUR wine and oil day lasts seven hours and is the cheapest private day that includes lunch. The two cheapest Priorat listings are a different product. 25 EUR buys an hour and a half at La Conreria, a winery at Scala Dei where you meet at the door and taste four wines from tank and barrel. The Salou pair, at 53 and 90 EUR, are for people already staying on the Costa Daurada.
Sailing to Alella: a good afternoon, not the Priorat
Five listings make this group and three operators run them. World Experience sells a four-hour sailing trip at 137 EUR from Port Olímpic to a 14th-century winery in Alella, with a van back, and a seven-hour private e-bike ride with a picnic at 250 EUR. Sailing Experience Barcelona sells an e-bike-and-sail combination at 83 EUR for six hours, where one leg is cycled and the other sailed, and a sailing-and-van version at 83 EUR for five. A fifth, at 260 EUR, is a private four-hour breakfast among Alella's vines with five organic wines.
The practical notes come from the listings. You need ID or a passport at the private sailing club. The boats take 11 at most, groups are split if larger, and the day can be rescheduled in bad weather. The e-bike listing is non-refundable, requires riders to be at least 16 and under 120 kg, and covers about 20 km on mixed ground. They are pleasant, well run days. The sailing day's 4.5 sits below the 4.8 and 4.9 of the two e-bike days, and we cannot say why.
Tastings inside Barcelona: 22 to 59 EUR
Seven listings never leave the city. A one-hour wine and cheese tasting at a wine shop on Carrer de Mallorca costs 22 EUR: four organic wines from small Catalan producers and an oenologist. A Vivinos Barcelona tasting is 35 EUR for 90 minutes and holds 193 reviews. A rooftop tasting of six Spanish wines costs 48 EUR, a wine and scent experience 50, a sommelier tasting 56, and a private "wine casino" 59 EUR for two and a half hours.
The odd one is the private tasting in a Gràcia wine shop, at 358 EUR. Its included list offers four bottles to share, more as the group grows, plus meats and cheese, and it takes up to six people. That makes the price almost certainly a group price: split six ways it is about 60 EUR each. These are two-hour products. They show Catalan and Spanish wine, and Priorat bottles may appear but are not promised.
The Pla de Bages outlier, and how to choose
One listing belongs to neither Barcelona nor the Priorat. A private half day at 405 EUR drives to an organic family winery at Avinyó, in the Pla de Bages, run by the fifth generation since 1885, for two wines and a bite, and then to an olive mill at Navas for three oils with cheese, honey and cured meat. Montserrat shows up from the car. It has seven reviews and a two-person minimum.
A short rule. Want the Priorat and a group: book the 195 EUR day, and budget 29 to 45 EUR for lunch. Want the Priorat and comfort: the 260 EUR wine and oil day is the cheapest private day with lunch. Want wine and a view for a few hours: the sailing or e-bike days at 83 EUR are the best fit. Want an hour of Spanish wine on a wet evening: the 22 to 59 EUR tastings work, and they are honest about it. For cellar tickets that you reach by train, the Penedès cava page is cheaper. The region is explained on Penedès and Priorat.
A title with Priorat in it means the wine is Catalan. It does not mean the vineyard is in the Priorat.
Questions about Priorat and Barcelona wine tastings
Can I do the Priorat as a day trip from Barcelona?
Yes, but it is a long day. The shared tour takes 10 hours and costs 195 EUR, with lunch extra. The private versions take 10 to 12 hours and cost 480 to 645 EUR. A few listings start from Salou or Tarragona instead.
Is there a cheap way to taste Priorat wine?
La Conreria at 25 EUR is the cheapest, for 1.5 hours and four wines, but it starts at the winery, so you need a car or a taxi. The 22 to 59 EUR tastings in Barcelona show Catalan and Spanish wines, not necessarily the Priorat.
Is the Alella sailing tour a wine tour?
It is a sailing trip with a winery visit. The boat leaves Port Olímpic, lands near El Masnou and ends at a winery in Alella for a tasting with Catalan snacks. It lasts four hours and costs 137 EUR.
Do I need a car to visit the Priorat?
Without a tour, yes. There is no railway into the wine villages. The shared and private day tours include transport from Barcelona, Tarragona or Sitges, and the Salou listings include hotel pickup in Salou.
Is lunch included in a Priorat tour?
Not on the shared day: lunch costs 29 to 45 EUR at Clos Figueras. On the private days at 260, 480 and 645 EUR it is included, as a three-course meal with wine on the 480 EUR day.
Can children join these tours?
Not the shared Priorat day, which excludes children under 12. The e-bike listings set a minimum age of 16. The private breakfast among the vines is pitched at families. Check the age line on each of the others.
Looking for a cellar you can reach by train?
The Penedès page has cellar-door tickets from 21.50 EUR and cava days with transport, sorted by what they include.
