The day is built from private visits and tastings at hosted venues, chosen to show the wide and balanced range of wines that made Priorat famous worldwide. Lunch is a paired tasting menu. Depending on the day, it is held at one of the wineries or at a traditional local restaurant that serves local wines. A Priorat wine tour is also a chance to add bottles to a personal collection that would be hard, or expensive, to get outside Priorat or Spain.

  1. Celler Pasanau

The morning drive ends in the village of La Morera de Montsant and the Celler Pasanau estate. The family's winemakers show their hillside vineyards and the views over Priorat, then the cellar and its winemaking process, before a tasting of full-bodied wines.

  2. Clos Figueras

Clos Figueras is the second of the three wineries. On the way from Barcelona the guide describes the area as the route passes terraced vines cut into the hillsides. The harvest here is hard and mostly by hand. After a small local winery with a first tasting of three Priorat wines, the group goes to Clos Figueras, run by Christopher Cannan, a pioneering Priorat winemaker. The wine comes from old vines grown without insecticides. Lunch is a traditional three-course meal with their wines.

  3. Celler Devinssi

Next is the village of Gratallops and Celler Devinssi, a small boutique winery in Priorat. Weather permitting, the tasting takes place among the vineyards with views from the hilltop. The winemaking is artisanal, and the wines are limited-production ones.
