Wine Tasting in Lisbon: 12 Tastings from 17 to 65 EUR
One wine bar holds 83% of the reviews. Nine tastings start in the city, three at wineries outside it, and only one is private.
One wine bar has 83% of the 724 reviews on this page. Its three listings, at 24, 29 and 60 EUR, account for 604 of them, so most of what has been written about a Lisbon wine tasting is written about one room in the city centre. The other nine operators share the remaining 120 reviews, and five of their listings have eight or fewer. Three of the twelve do not start in Lisbon at all: they meet at wineries in Carcavelos, Bucelas and Bombarral. This page sorts the twelve by what they pour, where you stand and what two hours at a table can and cannot teach. The day among the vines, with Moscatel and a drive across the Tagus, is on the Arrábida and Setúbal page.
The figures come from the twelve listings as they stood on 30 September 2026. The wine counts and meeting points come from the tour pages, which we opened for eleven of the twelve. Where a listing does not state how many wines are poured, this page does not guess.

Ratings collected by Viator, Tripadvisor and Tiqets
Wine tasting in Lisbon: who is actually in the room
Three of the twelve listings belong to the same bar in the city centre. The one that matters is the 60 EUR wine and cheese lunch: 457 reviews, 63% of everything on the page, at 4.8. Beside it sit a one-hour apéritif at 29 EUR with 94 reviews at 4.4, and a one-hour Port tasting at 24 EUR with 53 reviews at 4.7. When a page of twelve tours has a weighted rating of 4.71, that number is mostly a rating of this one lunch.
Read the rest with care. Four more listings have between 4 and 7 reviews, and two of them rate 4.0. That does not make them bad, only untested: a single unhappy guest pulls a five-review average a long way. Outside the bar, the largest counts are 32 reviews at 4.4 for the Taylor's Port tasting on Viator and 29 at 4.8 for A Taste of Lisbon.
The chart shows how compact the market is. Eleven of the twelve sit inside a band 48 EUR wide, from 17 to 65, and the middle half runs from 28 to 61. Price tracks length and wine count more than anything else. A one-hour tasting of three Ports costs 17 EUR. A two-hour evening with four wines costs 35. A two-hour lunch with six wines from six regions and cheese and charcuterie costs 60.
| Tasting | Price | Length | Wines stated | Where you meet | When |

| Apéritif before dinner at the wine bar | 29 EUR | 1 hour | not stated | City centre | see listing |
| A Taste of Lisbon | 35 EUR | 2 hours | 4 wines | Largo Luís de Camões, Bairro Alto | Thu to Sat, 17:00 and 19:00 |
| Carcavelos vineyard visit | 45 EUR | 1.5 hours | at least 3, including fortified Carcavelos | Quinta da Corrieira, 10 km from the centre | see listing |
| Urban winery tour, Belém | 50 EUR | 2 hours | 5 with artisan food | Adega Belém | Fri and Sat, 11:00 to 13:00 |
| Quinta das Murgas tasting | 55 EUR | 2 hours | not stated | Bucelas, about 22 km from the centre | see listing |

| Wine Tasting and Culture | 63 EUR | 2 hours | 6 with cheese and charcuterie | First floor on Rua das Portas de Santo Antão | see listing |
| Family winery, Bombarral | 65 EUR | 1.5 hours | 5 or 6, the listing says both | Quinta do Sanguinhal, about 60 km | see listing |
| Sommelier on a private sailboat | 470 EUR | 2 hours | not stated | Doca de Alcântara | Booking for up to 15 travelers |
Two rows have a schedule that a day-before booking will miss. The Bairro Alto tasting runs on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 17:00 and 19:00, and the Belém winery tasting only on Friday and Saturday morning. If you land on a Sunday, check that the one you want is running.
Port is not Lisbon wine
Two of the listings at 17 EUR sell the same hour: the Viator one and the Tiqets one point to Taylor's shop and tasting room in Alfama, two minutes on foot from Santa Apolónia station. Both pour three Ports, a dry white, a late bottled vintage and a ten-year-old tawny, each with a pastel de nata or chocolate. Taylor's dates from 1692 according to the listing, so it is a Port house with a counter in Lisbon, not a Lisbon wine.
At 17 EUR for three Ports and a pastry it is among the cheapest and shortest things on the page, and it is honest about what it is.
If your aim is to taste what grows near Lisbon, the clearest case is Carcavelos. The listing calls it one of Portugal's rarest wine styles, a fortified wine from a quinta ten kilometres from the centre that has made it since the late 1970s. Most of the other tastings pour wine from across the country.
Nine rooms in the city, four neighbourhoods
The nine city tastings are spread over a handful of districts: Bairro Alto and the square by the Camões statue, the old centre around Rua das Portas de Santo Antão, Belém by the river and Alfama by the station. A yellow tram going down a narrow street, as in the photo, is how many visitors cross between them. The listings for the Belém winery and for the wine bar both note that public transport is nearby.
None offers hotel pickup, so the twelve are all "meet us there" experiences. That suits a free evening or a rest day, and it is one reason a tasting can cost a third of a day trip: nothing on the price is for a driver.
Three listings start outside Lisbon
Three of the twelve are winery visits filed under Lisbon because the operator lists them that way. The Carcavelos one is the closest, about 20 minutes by car or taxi from the centre according to the listing, and transport is not included. The Quinta das Murgas tasting meets at the estate gate in Bucelas, roughly 22 km north in a straight line. The family winery meets at a quinta near Bombarral, about 60 km away, which is farther than Setúbal.
They are real vineyard visits, which a bar cannot be, and they cost more per wine: 11 to 15 EUR for each wine named at Carcavelos and Bombarral, against 6 to 11 EUR in the city. The catch is getting there. Check the meeting point before you choose, because a two-hour tasting that needs a taxi each way is a different evening.
What a city tasting can and cannot show
The photo is a rack of bottles lying on their sides, which is also the honest picture of most of this page. The best thing a city tasting does is put several regions on one table. The wine bar's lunch names six wines from six regions, the Bairro Alto tasting four, and the quiet upstairs room on Rua das Portas de Santo Antão six with cheese and charcuterie.
What it cannot do is show a vineyard, a cellar or a soil. Expect an introduction to Portuguese styles, a guide with a good memory and enough notes to order with confidence afterwards. If you want to see where any of it is made, book a winery visit or a peninsula day.
How to choose among twelve
Start with the hour you have. If you have one, take the Port at 17 EUR or the apéritif at 29. If you have two and an appetite, the 60 EUR wine and cheese lunch is the best-tested listing by a wide margin, and the 35 EUR Bairro Alto evening is the cheapest real two-hour tasting, but only three evenings a week. If you want a winery, go to Carcavelos.
Skip the sailboat unless the boat is the point. It costs 470 EUR for a booking of up to 15 travelers, with eight reviews, and the listing does not say how many wines are poured. If it is a booking price, a full boat would come to about 31 EUR a head.
Questions about wine tasting in Lisbon
Which Lisbon wine tasting shows the most Portuguese regions?
The 60 EUR wine and cheese lunch names six wines from six regions, and the upstairs tasting on Rua das Portas de Santo Antão also pours six. The Bairro Alto evening has four. Port tastings pour one region only, the Douro.
How much should I pay for a tasting in Lisbon?
Between 17 and 65 EUR, median 47.50. Expect about 6 to 11 EUR a wine in the city and 11 to 15 EUR at a winery. A price far above that range, like the 470 EUR sailboat, buys a private boat, not better wine.
Do I need to book ahead?
For two of them, yes. The Bairro Alto tasting runs only on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and says seats are limited, and the Belém winery opens its tasting only on Friday and Saturday mornings. Most of the rest offer free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead.
Is Port a Lisbon wine?
No. Port comes from the Douro, in the north. Two listings pour Port at Taylor's shop in Alfama because the house keeps a tasting room there. For Lisbon's own fortified wine, look at Carcavelos.
Can children come along?
It depends on the listing. The Carcavelos winery serves non-alcoholic drinks to guests under 18, and the Bombarral winery pours its wines for adults only. Ask the operator before you book for a family.
Is there a wine tasting with pickup from my hotel?
No. None of the twelve collects you. If you want a driver and cellars, see the day trips to Setúbal, where 85% of the listings include pickup.
Want the vineyards too?
Twenty day trips to Arrábida, Setúbal and Azeitão, from 70 EUR, with the Moscatel and the coast road.
