Verona City Centre Wine School: Soave, Lugana, Valpolicella and Amarone Pairings
A tasting for cold or rainy afternoons, when a trip out to the vineyards is off the table. The session runs as an interactive wine school in a vineria in Verona's city centre, and covers five of the area's best-known wines. It opens with Soave, a dry, mineral white that wakes up the palate. Lugana follows, an aromatic white from the southern shore of Lake Garda. The reds all come from the Valpolicella Classica area west of Verona: a robust Valpolicella Superiore first, then Amarone, the intense wine the region is known for. Every wine is served with local DOP products. It suits an unhurried afternoon in Verona. Note on the address: throughout December the tasting is held at Via Ponte Pietra 15, at the Amarone Wine Shop. On Sundays it is held only at Via Ponte Pietra 15.

Verona
An interactive wine school in a Verona vineria, for winter days or rainy afternoons when the Valpolicella vineyards are out of reach. The tasting starts with Soave, a dry white with mineral notes, then Lugana, an aromatic white from the southern shore of Lake Garda. The reds come from Valpolicella Classica, just west of Verona: a robust Valpolicella Superiore, then Amarone, noble and intense. Local snacks are served alongside to match each glass.
