Bertani Amarone Villa Tour and Seated Tasting at Tenuta Santa Maria, Valpolicella

Tenuta Santa Maria di Gaetano Bertani is a Venetian villa and chateau built between the 1500s and 1700s, at the center of Valpolicella's history. The brothers Giovanni and Guglielmo Bertani, whose family is among the founders of the wine region, make the award-winning wines poured here. The guide leads the group through the neoclassical architecture, the frescoed rooms, the romantic gardens and the ancient vineyards of the Clos. The visit continues to the natural grape drying rooms and the original vinification area of the Amarone Classico Riserva, then down to the monumental ageing cellars, where some barrels are over two hundred years old. Every tour includes a seated wine tasting.
