Small-Group Marseille Cruise Shore Excursion: Avignon and Châteauneuf-du-Pape Wine
This is a shared shore excursion from the Marseille seaport, for cruise passengers. A guide drives the group to Avignon, the city of the Popes, and the day ends with a wine tasting in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The Pont Saint-Bénézet once crossed the Rhône, and it gets a photo stop. In the city centre the walk passes the Popes' Palace, the best preserved Gothic palace in Europe (entrance not included). Lunch is free time on your own during the day. The last stop is one winery in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
