Siena Small-Group Tuscany Day: Chianti Classico, Brunello Winery, Pienza and Lunch
Six guests at most share the vehicle on this day out of Siena, so the guide has time for questions and the pace is set by the group rather than by a bus timetable. There is no crowded coach and no rigid schedule to keep. The day centres on two family-owned boutique wineries, visited one after the other in an easygoing setting where the owners are on hand. At the Chianti estate, the tasting comes with a Tuscan lunch. At the Montalcino estate, the glass is Brunello di Montalcino. Between cellars, the route passes through the Val d'Orcia and ends in Pienza. Expect Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino poured with hill views in front of you, plus an explanation of how each of these wines is made and what sets the two regions apart.
