A semi-private tour from Siena for a maximum of six people, with a private vehicle and a licensed guide. The schedule is looser than on a big bus tour. The day covers the history of the Chianti region, the fortress of Montalcino and, as an upgrade, a Brunello tasting at a family-owned boutique winery. Tastings come with Tuscan products: Pecorino cheese, bruschetta, salame and extra virgin olive oil. A private tour of a historic cellar explains how the wine is made.

  1. Viale XXV Aprile, Siena

Outside Prosperino Bistrot. The guide waits on the terrace, next to the olive tree statue.

  2. Castellina In Chianti

The first stop is an organic, family-owned boutique winery in Chianti Classico with views over the Tuscan hills. The visit includes a wine tasting and the medieval cellars, with Pecorino cheese, cold cuts and extra virgin olive oil.

  3. Val D'Orcia

The panoramic drive from Chianti Classico to Montalcino passes cypress trees, olive groves and castles.

  4. Montalcino

The last stop is the medieval village of Montalcino, with its walls and towers and a fourteenth-century fortress that gives one of the best views over Val d'Orcia. As an option, a second winery can replace the town visit, with a Brunello tasting at a boutique winery with wide views.
