Self-Guided Champagne Day in Reims: Veuve Clicquot, Pommery, Taittinger Cellars, Lunch
A full day in Reims built around the cellars of Veuve Clicquot and Pommery, with several glasses of Champagne along the way. At Veuve Clicquot, the visit follows the house's history and the innovations of Madame Clicquot, who changed how Champagne was produced. It also explains the "Clicquot style", a mix of power and finesse. At Pommery, the route goes down into 18th-century chalk cellars, some as deep as 30 meters. The vast vaulted spaces hold giant artworks and a modern art exhibition, above a castle and medieval cellars. The day can also be done from Paris. It is a self-guided tour: there is no driver and no private guide.
