Private Wine Tasting and Lunch at Bosco de' Medici Winery Beside Pompeii's Ruins

Bosco de' Medici is a 4-hectare winery next to the Archaeological Site of Pompeii. A guided walk of about 15 minutes takes in the property in four stops. First comes the experimental vineyard, the estate's own rows, planted with Piedirosso, Aglianico, Caprettone and Falanghina. Next are the historical structures: a portion of the archaeological site of Pompeii, an irrigation channel built by the Bourbons, the former kings of Naples, and the ruins of an 18th-century family villa. In the cellar underneath the villa, some of the wine is made in terracotta amphorae buried underground. The third stop is the wine cellar, which holds stainless steel silos, wooden barrels and more terracotta amphorae. The walk ends with a wine tasting and lunch.
