This is a sightseeing tour first and a wine tour second. It covers Arrábida Natural Park, one of the most beautiful spots near Lisbon. The park was founded in 1976, covers 108 square kilometers and is one of 30 officially protected areas, mainly because it hosts many rare species. The route goes through the village of Azeitão, with some wine tasting on the way, then Sesimbra, Palmela and other places along the coast. If the weather allows, there may be time on the beach by the clear blue water.

  1. Cabo Espichel

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Cape Espichel, also called Nossa Senhora da Pedra Mua, stands out in this region for its position and its architectural complex. Worship here dates to 1410, when two old men from Caparica and Alcabideche, guided by matching dreams, found the image of Our Lady of the Cape at the tip of the headland. Until the early 18th century, houses enclosed the grounds around the first temple and lodged pilgrims.

  2. Sesimbra

Sesimbra is one of Portugal's best beach resorts and a favorite holiday spot for the Portuguese, for its clean coastline, social atmosphere and fresh seafood. The area has hiking and cycling trails in the Serra da Arrábida, kayak and boat tours along the coast and some of the best diving in Portugal. Nearby are Cabo Espichel, the port of Setúbal and the beaches of the Tróia Peninsula. Lisbon is 45 minutes away by bus.
