  1. Ponte 25 de Abril

The tour starts across the 25 de Abril Bridge, which is identical to the San Francisco bridge, toward the Cristo Rei sanctuary.

  2. Castelo de Palmela

Palmela has been inhabited since prehistoric times, and its strategic position left traces of several cultures. There are churches to visit and a convent of the Order of Santiago, now a hostel. From here both the Tejo and Sado rivers are visible.

  3. Mercado do Livramento

Livramento Market, among the best in the world: fish, cheeses, local pastries, olives, aromatic plants, flowers and seeds.

  4. Setubal

Setúbal's historic center mixes old and modern architecture. Bocage Square honors the poet Bocage. The Convent of Jesus and the Church of São Julião, known for its tiles, show the religious history. Avenida Luísa Todi has shops and restaurants serving the city's fried cuttlefish. The Troino neighborhood is known for local festivals, and the House of Culture hosts music, film, theater, dance and photography.

  5. Parque Natural da Arrabida

The road crosses Serra da Arrábida Natural Park, protected and over 500 meters high, with a view of the Sado estuary, home to a resident colony of dolphins. A boat trip to see them can be added at booking. White limestone cliffs, blue water and green vegetation.

  6. Jose Maria de Fonseca

José Maria da Fonseca Vinhos S.A., the oldest table wine company in Portugal, founded in 1834 and now in its seventh generation. It sells on every continent, and Periquita and Lancers are among its best-known brands.

  7. Sesimbra

Sesimbra is known for fish, and in summer for barbecued fish in particular, though more restaurants serve newer dishes each year. A walk along Marginal street gives a first look at this fishing village of more than five centuries. The 16th-century Fortress of Santiago, with a sea terrace, lies between Ouro beach to the west and California beach to the east. Lunch time.

  8. Azulejos de Azeitao

A tile workshop using traditional European methods and reproducing antique designs from Europe, Islamic and Chinese sources. It makes flat hand-painted tiles and relief tiles in colored glazes, in the style of 16th-century Hispano-Moorish tiles.
