Private Full-Day Soave and Amarone Wine Tour from Venice with Sommelier and Verona Walk

A sommelier leads this private full day out of Venice, built around two small family wineries in the Soave and Valpolicella areas. Neither is a commercial operation, and the tastings are paced around what the group wants to know. The day starts with Soave. Between tastings there is a guided walk through the historic center of Verona, past its Roman and medieval sights. In the afternoon the focus moves to Amarone and its appassimento method, the traditional grape-drying process, with Valpolicella Classico, Ripasso, Amarone and Recioto in the glass. A light lunch of local food is included, and wine can be bought directly from the producers. The pace is easy and the explanations are plain, so guests who know little about wine can follow along and ask questions at every stop.
