Mount Etna is one of Italy's UNESCO sites, and this private tour covers two sides of it: the volcano's history and the wine made on its slopes. The first half follows the 1669 eruption, the most famous in Etna's history. The group visits places it destroyed, including the remains of a church buried under the lava of that year. A stop in a typical Etna village shows houses built of lava stone and a fine square. The day ends in a cellar with a tasting of Etna DOC wines, served with a lunch of typical products.
