This private day trip from Tbilisi mixes a wine tasting with two very different places in Kakheti. Bodbe Monastery is one of the most important religious sites in Georgia, with gardens and a sacred spring said to heal. Sighnaghi, the City of Love, looks over the Alazani Valley from its hill. In Sighnaghi the visit is a walk through narrow streets and past historical sites, with the valley in view. The wine tasting takes place in Kakheti, in a winery, and adds the flavour of Georgian winemaking to the day.

  1. Winery tasting in Patardzeuli

Wine tasting at a wine factory.

  2. Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino

One of Georgia's most important religious sites. A steep path runs 800 m down to a small chapel over St Nino's Spring, which reputedly burst forth after she prayed there. Pilgrims queue to drink the water and splash themselves with it for its healing power.

  3. Signagi

The City of Love sits on a steep hill over the Alazani Valley, with the Caucasus in the distance, among wine-growing regions. It has pastel houses and narrow cobblestone streets. A four-kilometre defensive wall with 23 towers and six gates surrounds the town.
