Fully Private Full-Day Kakheti Tour: Sighnaghi, Bodbe and Khareba Wine Tunnel
This full day for one private party ends underground, in the Khareba wine tunnel at Kvareli in the Alazani Valley. The cellar is cut into the Caucasus mountains and runs 7.7 kilometres. The winery's visit includes tastings of more than 40 Khareba wines, and guests can also bake their own bread, take part in making chacha and prepare churchkhela. Before the tunnel comes the sightseeing. Sighnaghi, the City of Love, has been settled since the Paleolithic period. A recent reconstruction programme made it an important tourist centre in Georgia, and its cosy restaurants, hotels and quiet streets suit honeymooners, families and anyone avoiding big cities. Bodbe, 2 km away, is a Georgian Orthodox monastic complex and the seat of the Bishops of Bodbe.
