Private Day in Saint-Émilion and Its Châteaux by Luxury Van with Local Guide
A local guide leads this private day around Saint-Émilion, the medieval village named after the monk Émilion and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. The walk runs through its pedestrian streets. Along the way the guide covers the history of the châteaux of the Pomerol appellations and of the Jurisdiction of Saint-Émilion, and the passion of the founders, descendants and new owners who run them. The classifications of the Bordeaux vineyard and the different winemaking techniques get their explanation too. The day includes visits to three châteaux from different appellations around Saint-Émilion, each ending with a tasting. Visit and tasting fees are not included and are paid on the spot. Photo stops are possible in front of big names such as Château Ausone, Château Angelus, Château Cheval Blanc or, in Pomerol, Château Petrus.
