A private day trip from Paris to Champagne by Mercedes with hotel pickup. The day includes guided cellar visits with tastings at Moët & Chandon and at Taittinger, led by the staff of each House, in English. Four options are available: Basic, Most Popular, Advanced and Premium. They differ in group size and in what is poured, and the itinerary lists each one. A restaurant reservation can be made for lunch, which is an important part of the trip. The driver is an experienced chauffeur who gets the group to every place on time and provides the entrance tickets, but he is not a guide. A live guide is available for a surcharge and must be booked in advance.

  1. Paris

    07:30. Hotel pickup and departure for Champagne. The ride takes about 2 hours (140 km), part of it through Champagne vineyards, with one stop at a rest area.

  2. Moet Et Chandon

    10:00 to 12:00. Arrival in Épernay and a guided tour of the Moët & Chandon underground cellars with a tasting, by option. Basic, "L'Impérial": groups up to 19, 1.5 hours, tasting Moët Impérial and Rosé Impérial. Most Popular, "Signature": tasting Moët Impérial and Grand Vintage. Advanced, "Grand Vintage": groups up to 10, 1.5 hours, 2 glasses: Grand Vintage Blanc and Grand Vintage Rosé. Premium, "Workshop Haute Oenologie": groups up to 6, 2 hours. After the cellars comes a guided workshop with Moët Impérial, Grand Vintage Blanc matured in a magnum and the cuvée "Collection Impériale creation N°1".

  3. Epernay

    12:00 to 13:30. Lunch break in Épernay, the Champagne Capital of France, on the Marne river among the wine hills. A local restaurant can be reserved, or the time is free. The Avenue de Champagne is a popular walk. 14:00. Departure for the Pressoria Museum in Ay, 10 minutes (4 km).

  4. Abbaye Saint-Pierre d'Hautvillers

    13:30 to 14:00. The Abbey church of Hautvillers, founded in 665 and active until the French Revolution in 1789. Dom Pérignon developed winemaking methods here, and the village now has 26 local Champagne producers. A short stop at a viewpoint over the vineyards and the Marne river. 14:00. Departure for Reims, 30 minutes (28 km).

  5. Champagne Taittinger

    14:30 to 16:00. Guided cellar tour at Taittinger with a tasting at the end. Basic and Most Popular: the L'Instant Rosé experience, 2 glasses, Brut Réserve and Prestige Rosé. Advanced and Premium: the L'Instant Gourmet experience, 3 cuvées, Brut Réserve, Prélude Grands Crus and Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs. 16:00. Departure for Reims Cathedral, 10 minutes (2.3 km).

  6. Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Reims

    16:15 to 16:45. Self-guided visit to Reims Cathedral, where most of the French kings were crowned. 16:45. Departure for Paris, 2.5 hours (144 km).

  7. Paris

    19:30. Arrival in Paris and drop-off at your hotel.
