Poggio ai Laghi Tasting near Monteriggioni: Chianti Wines, Olive Oils and Vinegars
Poggio ai Laghi is a Tuscan estate that makes wine, olive oil and vinegar, and this tasting covers all three in one sitting. A wine expert guides each round and explains how the product is made, which flavors to look for and what to eat with it. The wines come first, and they include the labels dedicated to Donna Ava and her handmaids. Olive oils follow, among them the estate's chili pepper oil and its white truffle olive oil. The last round is vinegar: an artisanal balsamic vinegar of Italian production, and a special vinegar made with Valdelsa onions. Wine, oil and vinegar tasted in that order make a short course in what one estate produces.
