BarcelonaA day in the Penedès countryside, with a professional guide, visiting three different wineries that stand for the best of Catalan cava. The region is famous for winemaking, and the visits cover traditional and modern methods of producing wine and cava, the varieties, and a tasting at each place. Groups are kept small, with a maximum of 8 people, so the day stays intimate and shared with other wine lovers. A lunch stop at a farmhouse-style restaurant is part of the route, paid separately.

Every tour starts from the office directly opposite the Palau de la Música.
Explore Catalunya
9:00am. The day starts at the office opposite the Palau de la Música, where the guide briefs the group on the plan.
Mas Comtal
10:30am. The first winery, where the owner herself leads the visit and explains her family's work, followed by a tasting of their best wines. Montserrat stands behind the vineyards. The family lives on the property, so relatives may well walk by.
Felix Massana Rafols
12:00pm. A second small family winery, again shown by the owners. The underground cellars were carved out by the family themselves. The owner's wife pours a personal tasting chosen to your preferences.
Pacs del Penedes
2:00pm. A traditional local lunch at a farmhouse-style restaurant set among the vines, with a choice of typical dishes. Lunch is paid separately.
Pares Balta
3:30pm. A family winery that grows organically and follows a bio-dynamic philosophy. A walk in the vineyards, a look at the underground cellars and a substantial wine tasting, then an olive oil tasting.
Palace of Catalan Music
6:30pm. Departure from the last winery and arrival back in Barcelona at about 6:30pm.
