This walk through Naples' Old Town is built around three local wines, chosen to show what Campania makes. A sommelier leads the group and explains the region's grape varieties and how the wines are produced. The wine is poured in small venues along the route, each with a character of its own, set among the historic buildings of the centre. Between stops the walk passes the places that explain the city: a square, an old gate, Greek ruins and one of its busiest food streets. Naples has made wine for centuries, and the route keeps that history next to the glass.

  1. P.za Dante, Napoli

  3. Port'Alba

The old arch named after Don Antonio Álvarez de Toledo, Duke of Alba, the Spanish viceroy who had it built in 1625.

  4. Piazza Bellini

Ancient ruins in one of Naples' lively squares, showing the city's Ancient Greek roots.

  5. Via Dei Tribunali

One of the busiest food streets in Naples, followed by a side street to the first wine stop.

  6. Spaccanapoli

The first wine stop: a couple of local wines paired with charcuterie.

  7. Piazza del Gesu Nuovo

Two churches face each other across this square. Another wine venue here serves one more glass of local wine.

  8. Via Toledo

The walk ends near Via Toledo, within easy reach of anywhere in Naples.
