Montserrat and Castle Winery Full Day from Barcelona: 8:30 or 9:45 Departure Options
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
BarcelonaThis full day out of Barcelona starts with a look at the city's history and then heads for Montserrat. A local guide leads the small group through the Basilica and the monastery highlights, and the rest of the time is free. Options include a hike to St. Michael's Cross or a performance by the Boys' Choir (tickets not included). The departure time decides how the day is shaped. The 8:30 am departure gives 2.5 hours of free time in Montserrat. The 9:45 am departure includes a scenic ride on the Cogwheel Train. The afternoon is at a family-owned castle-winery dating back to 964 AD. The group tours the estate, sits down to a multi-course regional meal and tastes three local wines, all produced sustainably. A VIP Winery Experience can be added. It opens the barrel cellar, usually closed to the public, for an expert-led tasting of three premium wines, some drawn directly from barrels and foudres.
