The day starts early so the group reaches Montserrat before the crowds that arrive later in the morning. A guide leads the visit to the basilica and the Black Madonna, and there is free time afterwards. The second half is spent at a family-run cava winery, where the owner shows the group around. The vineyards are reached by 4x4. Lunch is homemade, cooked by the owner and his family and served at an outdoor table overlooking the vines. The visit ends in the production plant, at the bottling and labeling line. A private minibus does the transfers for a small group, with an expert guide throughout.

  1. Pg. de Colom, 2, Barcelona

Arrive 15 minutes before the start. The guide holds a yellow WalksDevour sign. The meeting point is Passeig de Colom, 2, next to the small supermarket Supermercat Colom and the restaurant Port Nou.

  2. Gothic Quarter

Meet the guide and the small group early on the edge of the Gothic Quarter, then take the private minibus on the hour-long drive to Montserrat. The guide covers Barcelona, Catalonia and Montserrat on the way.

  3. Abadia De Montserrat

Arriving early beats the crowds. The guide takes the group through the basilica and the 11th-century monastery, with stories of religion, nature and history. That includes the Black Madonna (La Moreneta), a 12th-century carved wooden statue that many pilgrims believe has healing powers, and where to see it in the basilica. After the guided part, 45 minutes of free time: the small art museum with paintings by Dalí and Picasso, a hike to a panoramic viewpoint, the farmers market or a coffee at the café.

  4. Family-run cava winery

The owner of a family-run cava winery shows the group around. A welcome glass of cava comes first, then a 4x4 ride to the vineyards and a stroll among the vines. In season, guests may try pruning or grape-picking. Lunch is homemade by the owner and his family, served outdoors over the vineyard with regional products and the bodega's best wines. The visit closes with the bottling and labeling process in the plant, and one guest takes home a custom bottle.

  5. Gothic Quarter

The private bus returns to Barcelona's city center after a full day in the Catalan countryside.
