Hunter Valley Small-Group Day Tour by Mercedes Van: Krinklewood, 1813, Keith Tulloch
Daniel, the guide, picks you up at your Sydney CBD hotel in a Mercedes van and drives you to the Hunter Valley for the day. Groups are capped at 11 guests. Three cellar doors are on the route: Krinklewood, a Provençal-style estate; 1813, a boutique cellar door at Tinonee; and Keith Tulloch Wine, a building with striking architecture. Keith Tulloch also has an artisan chocolatier on site, and a craft gin tasting can be added at no extra charge. Lunch is at Café Enzo in Pokolbin, open since 1996 and set in a sandstone Tuscan courtyard. The food is homemade, built on local produce, and guests pay on the day. There are no crowded tourist stops and no rushed tastings, just a day in the valley with a guide who knows it well.

Sydney
At 8:00 AM the driver and guide collects you from your pickup address in Sydney CBD in an air conditioned mini van. The drive north up the coast to the Hunter Valley takes about 2 1/2 hours. Pickup and drop-off are at the Sydney or Hunter Valley address you give: hotel, Airbnb or private residence. Choose from the hotel list or enter your address when booking.
Krinklewood Vineyard
By 11:00 AM the van reaches Krinklewood Estate, set among Provençal-style gardens where peacocks roam. The wine tasting can be paired with a local cheese and charcuterie board if you wish. The stay lasts 1 1/2 hours, enough to taste slowly and walk the grounds. Cellar door visits can change on the day because of private events or venue availability. A suitable alternative winery is chosen from the operator's network.
Tinonee Vineyard Estate
At 12:00 the group goes to 1813, a boutique cellar door among the vines of Tinonee Vineyard Estate. Tastings are held in the air-conditioned cellar door in warmer months and by the fire on the adjoining terrace in cooler months, with a view of the sandstone formation known as Yellow Rock. Cellar door visits can change on the day because of private events or venue availability. A suitable alternative winery is chosen from the operator's network.
Café Enzo lunch
Lunch starts around 1:30 PM at Café Enzo, in the Tuscan-inspired sandstone complex of Peppers Creek Village on Broke Road. It has been a Hunter Valley dining spot since 1996. The menu is homemade and built on local produce, with generous plates and coffee, and there is an alfresco courtyard. Guests order and pay on the day.
Keith Tulloch Wine
After lunch comes Keith Tulloch Wine, a light-filled building with mountain views and landscaped lawns. A guided tasting of the estate's wines is followed, if you choose, by boutique gins made with local distillers. Before leaving, browse the on-site artisan chocolatier. Cellar door visits can change on the day because of private events or venue availability. A suitable alternative winery is chosen from the operator's network.
Sydney
The van leaves the Hunter Valley at about 4pm and reaches Sydney CBD at around 6pm.
