Etna Urban Winery sits on a natural spot on Etna that the expanding city has come to surround. The family behind it decided to bring back the historical Etna viticulture of their land. The property has been in the family for 8 generations, and the aim is to show that a different use of land is possible in the suburbs, which still keep the character of a typical Etna lava field. The visit is self-guided. A vineyard trail runs at the guest's own pace, with viewpoints and information boards to stop at. The winery itself dates to 1790 and is still largely in its original shape. Families are welcome. The tasting room has a treasure hunt map, a sandbox, a small trampoline and a reading and painting corner.
