Châteauneuf-du-Pape Wine Tour from Avignon: Sommelier Guide and Medieval Cellar
This tour goes to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, one of the best-known appellations of the Rhône Valley, with a local bilingual guide who is also a sommelier. The day has three parts. Three wineries and wine châteaux are visited, and professionals who know the estates lead the tastings. A tasting in a medieval cellar in the village adds a setting with real age. The vineyard lies near Avignon. The transfer between Avignon and Châteauneuf-du-Pape takes between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Visitors who do not stay inside the Avignon walls can park at the Palais des Papes car park (2 Rue Ferruce, 84000 Avignon). The tour is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. A private tour can be arranged on request.
