Walking Tour from Alba with Hilltop Winery Tasting: 6 km Hike on Foot, No Car Needed

This is a walk, not a drive. It leaves from Alba, the capital of the Langhe, and climbs into the hills around the town. The trail has a vantage point with a view over the surrounding hills and valleys. The Piedmont vineyard landscape is gently rolling, and the hills give many views with subtle changes in tone. Wine matters a great deal in this region. At the top of a hill, in the middle of the walk, a winery serves a tasting of local wines with small bites of traditional products. The route suits travellers who reach Alba by public transport and have no car. It is about 6 km (3.7 mi) with an elevation gain of 350 m (1,148 ft).
