Barolo Estate in Monforte d'Alba: 11-Hectare Vineyard Visit, Wine and Venchi Chocolate

The visit begins at the gate of a Barolo estate in the UNESCO-listed Langhe hills. The first part is outdoors, among the estate's vineyards, about 11 hectares in all. The hosts explain how the grapes are grown, what the local terroir means and how the vine passes through its phenological phases over the growing season. Inside the winery, the tour follows the stages of winemaking after the harvest. The last stop is the historic cellar, where Luigi Arnulfo once stored his Barolo barrels. Here the Wine & Chocolate Experience takes place, created with the historic Piedmontese chocolate brand Venchi®. Five estate wines are tasted, each paired with a different Venchi® chocolate, so the character of the wine can be compared with the chocolate beside it.
