Viña Ijalba Winery Tour in Logroño with Underground Cellar and Three-Wine Tasting

Viña Ijalba is a winery a 15-minute walk from the Puente de Piedra in Logroño, and this guided visit ends with a tasting of three of its wines. The guide explains the grape varieties grown across more than 210 acres of vineyards and shows how the wine is made in the bodega's facilities. The wines belong to the La Rioja Denominación de Origen. The winery's history since its foundation in 1991 is covered along the way. The visit goes down to the underground ageing room, where around two thousand casks of French and American oak are stored. The tasting follows. An expert from the bodega helps identify each wine's variety through taste, aroma and color, and the wines come with typical Rioja snacks: cheese, chorizo and salami. Included: guided tour, tasting of three house wines, and local snacks. Not included: transport to and from the winery, and drinks beyond the tasting. The meeting point is the winery itself, and guests should arrive 10 minutes before the tour. Alcohol is served only to adults over 18. Children can join the tour with an adult but do not take part in the tasting.
