Bodegas Campillo Tour in Rioja Alavesa: Vineyards, Cellars and Three Wines

Bodegas Campillo was the first winery in Rioja Alavesa to open its doors to visitors. The group meets at the entrance at the chosen time, then spends ninety minutes walking through the vineyards and the winery. The guide explains the grape varieties grown here and shows the barrel aging cellar and the bottle racks that Campillo is known for. The buildings are worth a look too. A portico has seven semicircular arches, with wooden cantilevers and a large staircase that overlooks the vineyards. The visit ends with three Campillo wines and a light snack. There is also the chance to see the Contrasts exhibition, with works by the artists J.M. Estartús and Maldomado.
