Val d'Orcia Day Trip from Florence: Montepulciano Nobile, Pienza Lunch and Brunello

A day trip from Florence through the Val d'Orcia with two wine tastings and a traditional lunch at a local winery. The route links Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino, so the glass changes along the way: Nobile di Montepulciano first, Brunello di Montalcino to finish. Between the towns, the road runs through the valley's olive groves, vineyards and cypresses, a landscape UNESCO has recognised as world cultural heritage. Pienza and Montepulciano are left partly to free time, for walking and eating. Good to know: the tastings run in English, and the tour leader translates when needed. Expect a moderate amount of stairs and walking. Opening times can change during special events, and the itinerary may be reshuffled, but every stop is still visited.
