Talosa Cantina Storica, Montepulciano: Cellar Visit, Etruscan Tomb and Four-Wine Tasting

This 1.5-hour visit takes place in the Talosa historic cellar in Montepulciano, guided by a sommelier. The underground part dates to the 16th century and is built around vaults and tunnels attributed to the Etruscans. The sommelier tells the history of the cellar and explains how the wine is made, methods and techniques included. Along the way there is a private collection of old wine bottles in one of the tunnels, and an Etruscan tomb inside the cellar itself. The tasting comes at the end: four local wines, among the best known made in Montepulciano, served with bread and a plate of regional products. The sommelier explains what sets each of the four apart.
