The day starts with two boutique wineries in the rolling hills, both specializing in Montepulciano reds and both with a tour of the cellar and a tasting. Next comes the medieval town of Montepulciano, where the visit is either a historic winery with an underground cellar or a family-run boutique winery. Lunch is at another Nobile di Montepulciano winery: a full three-course meal of traditional Tuscan dishes, paired with wines from a region that has been making them since the 16th century.
