Sighnaghi and Bodbe Day Tour with Shoti Bread and Sagarejo Wine Tasting
A guided day in Kakheti with a romantic streak, built around Sighnaghi and Bodbe. The first stop is Badiauri, for fresh shoti bread straight from the bakery, with homemade cheese. Bodbe Monastery is next, a 9th-century Georgian Orthodox site and one of the country's important religious places. Sighnaghi follows, a town known for its cozy streets, beautiful houses and city walls, where the Marriage Palace explains the nickname City of Love. Baking traditional Georgian bread is one of the highlights of the day. At Sagarejo the tour turns to wine, with a tasting that introduces traditional Georgian wines. Guides talk about the history and culture of the region along the way.

Badiauri
Fresh shoti, the traditional Georgian bread, straight from the bakery, served with local homemade cheese.
Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino
Bodbe is one of Georgia's most important religious sites. A nunnery now stands where the monastery was, and the St. George Cathedral, part of the complex, holds the remains of St. Nino, Equal to the Apostles, who brought Christianity to Georgia. A new cathedral is also under construction, using much the same methods as Georgia's famous cathedrals of centuries ago.
Marriage Palace
This building gives the town its title, City of Love. It is apparently the only place in Georgia where a couple can marry at any time of the day.
Signagi
Sighnaghi has significant historic and cultural heritage sites. Cobblestone streets and alleys, restored woodwork and detailed facades give the town a romantic air. Billed as the City of Love, it is a popular wedding venue. Its chapel was the first to operate around the clock, which put Sighnaghi on the map, and it still holds ceremonies at all hours.
Sagarejo
An introduction to traditional Georgian wines.
