Saint-Émilion Day Trip from Bordeaux: Village Walk, 3 Château Tastings and Picnic Lunch

A van leaves from central Bordeaux for Saint-Émilion, the medieval town where Bordeaux viticulture began. The day opens on foot with a guide who covers the history of this UNESCO World Heritage site and its monuments. At noon the group stops at a Château of the appellation for a visit and a tasting of 3 wines. Lunch is a picnic from an artisanal, traditional caterer that works with fresh local products, served with a glass of wine. The second Château comes after lunch, with a tasting of 2 wines and an explanation of what sets the appellation apart: its grape varieties and the winemaking techniques behind the wines. A third Château closes the day with a last tasting of 3 wines. The guide stays with the group throughout, so questions about wine are welcome at every stop.
