Saint-EmilionBordeauxWinePilgrim runs this day as a "Wine Pilgrimage" on e-bikes, through the countryside around Saint-Émilion, past vineyards and châteaux. The guide is a wine expert who also tells local legends, and shares what he knows of the region's history and culture along the rolling hills and villages. The e-bikes keep the ride easy for everyone. Two châteaux are visited, each with its own story and style. At both, guests learn how the wine is made and taste some of the best vintages. Lunch is a picnic with local delicacies and more wine. The day ends with a third tasting in the village of Saint-Émilion, at a wine merchant.

6 Pl. Bouqueyre, Saint-Émilion
At the e-bike center. The meeting time of 10.30 to 10.45 fits the 10.14 train arrival (1 km from the station, at the start of the village). If you come by train, a shuttle can be booked from Saint-Émilion station. Paid parking on site. From Bordeaux: 30 minutes by SNCF train.

10.30am. Meet at the e-bike center, get settled on your bike and have a briefing before riding out through the vineyards.

11.30am. Tour of a family-run property and a taste of its Grand Cru wine. The château varies with the day and date of the booking.

1.30pm. Ride on after lunch through more of the Saint-Émilion countryside and hear about its blue clay.

2.30pm. Second visit, to an organic vineyard held by the same family for over 400 years: its philosophy, its biodiversity, a tour and a tasting.

4.00pm. Short ride back to the bike shop and drop off the bikes.

5.00pm to 5.30pm. Third tasting of the day at a wine merchant in Saint-Émilion village: at least 3 to 5 wines. Rare and old vintages can be bought and shipped worldwide.
