Private Pienza and Montalcino Day Tour: Organic Pecorino Dairy and Brunello Cellar
A private full-day tour from Siena that pairs two Tuscan products: cheese and Brunello di Montalcino. An English-speaking local guide drives the route through the Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO-protected valley, with frequent photo stops along the way. The first visit is an organic farm. You see the animals, then taste the pecorino and goat cheeses made in the farm's own dairy, along with local extra virgin olive oil, looking out over the neighbouring hills. Pienza comes next, the Renaissance town built by Pope Pius II. Time here is free: the cathedral can be visited at no charge, the quiet streets and small shops are there to browse, and lunch is yours to arrange, whether a snack or a full meal. The day ends in Montalcino, a hilltop town that was Siena's last line of defence against Florence and is known for red wine, olive oil and honey. After a short walk through the town, you tour the cellars of a local winery and taste its Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino. The drive back returns to Siena and your accommodation.
