Three wine towns, three tastings, one private vehicle. The day begins in Paarl, the third oldest settlement in South Africa and a place with a winemaking tradition that goes back centuries. A wine and cheese tasting at an award-winning estate comes first. The drive to Stellenbosch crosses rolling vineyards with mountains behind. In town, the road passes Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian buildings along oak-lined streets, before a tasting at another award-winning estate. Lunch is in Stellenbosch and is paid for separately. The third estate is in the Franschhoek Valley, the country's food and wine heartland. The day closes with a last wine tasting at an award-winning estate.
