Margaret RiverThis is a private winery tour for small groups, run from the back seat of a classic 1960s Chevy. The driver collects you from your accommodation and takes you to five boutique wineries that you choose, or follows an itinerary he suggests. The driver has 12 years of experience working in wineries and uses it to explain each venue. A gourmet lunch is included, and the tour ends with a drop-off at your accommodation. The tour runs in a 1964 Chevy Belair, from door to door over 6 hours. At each winery you hear how the winemaking differs and how vineyard management shapes what ends up in the glass. The route mixes well-known wineries with smaller boutique producers. Lunch is included at a local brewery, then the drive continues to lesser-known producers. The driver draws on his winemaking knowledge to answer questions and, if asked, to recommend what to buy.
