The Full Bottle tour from Cheers is a broad look at what Margaret River has to offer, led by guides who mix wine knowledge with humour. It goes past the tasting itself. Several cellar doors on the route give discounts and bonus buys. At Brown Hill Estate the group goes into the barrel room for a close introduction to oaked wine. Lunch is at a venue chosen for its country feel, with handcrafted beer or local wine to go with it. The commentary covers the region's history, its Indigenous significance and the wine itself, and the guide points out other things worth doing while you are in the area. Taking the tour early in a stay helps you plan the days that follow.

  1. Brown Hill Estate

Boutique Margaret River wine making in a working winery, with an earth-to-wine approach. The tutored tasting is often followed by a presentation in the oak barrel room. Tasting wine while sitting inside a working winery is the draw here.

  2. Jarvis Estate

A family-owned and operated estate. Besides the tasting, the group goes into the wine making area and tastes straight from the barrel. Look out for the Cheers bonus buy: buy 3, get one free.

  3. Margaret River

Lunch and a drink of your choice are included. The preferred venue is CBco, serving a freshly prepared lunch from a menu, with gluten-free and vegetarian options. The drink is a craft beer or local wine, with zero-alcohol options available. The Colonial became the region's second craft brewery when it started brewing in 2004. There is time to buy and enjoy a craft beer or local wine.

  4. Woody Nook Wines

Award-winning wines in a charming setting. Whether you prefer crisp, fruity whites or rich, firmly structured reds, the cellar door staff walk you through the range.

  5. The Margaret River Chocolate Co

Chocolate samples, and a good place for an afternoon hot drink.

  6. THE GROVE DISTILLERY & BREWERY

For a small fee you can add a group tasting of liqueurs and mini cocktails on arrival. Then relax over a cheese and cracker plate with a handcrafted brew, cocktail or mixed drink. The Grove also pours gin, scotch and other spirits.
