A private car takes the driving and planning off your hands on this day trip from Milan to the UNESCO-listed Langhe. Pickup is door to door, and the pace of the day is yours. The first stop is Alba, a medieval town to explore on foot. Then comes a family-run boutique winery in the Barolo area, chosen with care, where a guided tasting pours seven local wines, several of them Barolos. What the day includes: • A private journey through the Langhe hills • Free time in Alba's historic center • A visit to a small family-run winery • A guided tasting of 7 wines, among them Barolo, Barbera and Nebbiolo

What's included

  • Private door-to-door pickup and drop-off in a comfortable vehicle (up to 7 guests).
  • Cellar and wine aging tour at the family-run winery.
  • Walking tour of Alba with a professional English-speaking guide.
  • The tasting of 7 glasses of wine

  1. Alba

Alba is known for white truffles, hazelnuts and Barolo, and it moves at a slower pace than Milan. Walk the medieval center, stop for a relaxed lunch of local specialties and wine, and explore without a schedule.

  2. Barolo

A family-run winery sits among the Barolo vineyards, with open views over the hills. A guided visit covers the vineyards and cellar and explains the winemaking process, from growing the grapes to aging. In the barrel room, Barolo matures for at least 38 months, part of it in wood. The tasting focuses on Barolo, in a small-scale setting built around quality and tradition.

  3. Castello Di Grinzane Cavour

Grinzane Cavour Castle is UNESCO-listed, and its panoramic terraces overlook the Barolo vineyards. Visit at your own pace. On Tuesdays the castle is closed, so the group goes to a panoramic viewpoint in the Barolo hills instead.
