Barolo and Barbaresco with a Sommelier: Neive Coffee Start, Two Wineries and Osteria Lunch

The day runs from 9:30 to 17:00 and opens in Neive, a small medieval hilltop town in the Barbaresco area, counted among Italy's five most beautiful hilltop villages. Over a warm drink in a caffè, the sommelier spreads out local maps and explains the two regions, the grapes, how the wine is made and what will be poured later. The drive then winds through hills covered in vines to the first winery. There the group sees how the wine is made, hears some family history and tastes a few of the family's most prized bottles. Lunch is at a small local place in a medieval village, and a second winery follows. The group returns to the meeting point afterward, and the evening is free for an aperitivo or dinner.
