South Luján de Cuyo Hop On-Hop Off Wine Bus: Chandon, Budeguer, Terrazas
This is a bus route through the wineries of southern Luján de Cuyo, in Mendoza province, with winemaking explained along the way. How it works The bus runs hop on-hop off. After the first boarding, passengers can get off and back on through the day, and the ticket is valid for one full day. It follows a set timetable with fixed stops at the wineries, and each passenger decides which ones to visit. The ticket does not cover winery entrance fees, tastings or meals. It does give discounts on tastings and dining when shown at the wineries and restaurants. Routes The route depends on the option chosen at booking. Full day (10 hours 30 minutes): departures start at 8 am and the bus is back around 6:30 pm. The wineries are Chandon, Zolo, Budeguer, Terrazas de los Andes and Casarena. Three are chosen for the visit and one more for lunch. Half day, morning (6 hours): two wineries, Chandon and either Zolo or Budeguer. Departures start at 8 am, back by 2 pm. Half day, afternoon (4 hours 15 minutes): two wineries, Belasco de Baquedano and Terrazas de los Andes. Departures start at 2:15 pm, finishing by 6:30 pm. The wineries Chandon was founded in 1959 and is known for premium sparkling wines, among them Cuvée Brut Nature and Demi Sec. Zolo, in Luján de Cuyo, dates from 2000 and makes wines from the Mendoza mountains. Budeguer has modern architecture, with the Andes reflected in a water mirror. Inside, advanced technology is used for aged wines, and a glass can be taken on the walk around. Terrazas de los Andes grows mainly Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Its restaurant, Casa Terraza, serves dishes based on traditional Argentine cooking. Casarena is more than a century old and sits in Perdriel. It belongs to the DOC Luján de Cuyo and focuses on wines that reflect the local soils. The departure point is chosen from the available list when booking.
