Kakheti is Georgia's wine region, and this day trip from Tbilisi crosses it by minibus. Sighnaghi, the City of Love, sits above the Alazani Valley, and Georgian wine is the thread through the day. The first stop is Badiauri village, with a local bakery where Georgian bread and cheese are tasted. Bodbe Convent comes next. According to legend, it stands on the burial place of Saint Nino. The site is very spiritual and its views are good for photos. In Sighnaghi, a walking tour leads to the Great Wall of Georgia. Telavi, the capital of Kakheti, has a 900-year-old tree where guests make a wish. Several types of wine and chacha are tasted in a cellar before the return to Tbilisi.
