Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino
One of Georgia's most important religious sites, near Sighnaghi, and the burial place of Saint Nino, the 4th-century woman who brought Christianity to Georgia. Cypress trees and flower gardens surround the complex, with views over the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains. It is an active convent and a pilgrimage and tourist site.
Sighnaghi
Sighnaghi, called the City of Love, is a hilltop town in Kakheti inside defensive walls with watchtowers. It has cobblestone streets, colorful 19th-century balconies and views of the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains.
Signagi City Walls
Built in the 18th century by King Erekle II, the walls run about 4 km with more than 20 watchtowers. They are among the longest fortification walls in Georgia, with panoramic views of the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains.
Telavi
Telavi, the capital of Kakheti, is a historic town with markets and a royal past. A landmark in the town center is a giant plane tree over 900 years old, counted among the oldest trees in Georgia.
