Porto
The guide meets the group in Porto and the drive to the Douro Valley begins. On the way the city gives way to vineyards, and the guide talks about the history, culture and winemaking of the region.
The Douro Valley
The road goes through the Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the world's oldest demarcated wine regions. Vineyard hills, traditional villages and viewpoints pass by as the guide explains the history and traditions behind them.

Pinhao

Folgosa
A 50-minute cruise on the Douro River, past vineyard hillsides, traditional wine estates and quiet riverbanks.

A traditional Portuguese lunch at a local winery, then a guided visit on the region's long winemaking tradition and a tasting of selected local wines in the vineyard.
