Douro Valley Wine Day from Porto with Sommeliers: Two Family Wineries, Lunch, Boat
A group of friends who are certified sommeliers and winemakers host this wine day from Porto across two wine regions. The morning is in the historic Vinho Verde region, at a 400-year-old family winery and olive grove. The owners show guests around, and the tasting comes with regional pairings. One of the bottles of Port is opened with fire and tongs. The route then follows the N222 beside the Douro River to a traditional lunch in the valley. Fish, meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes are served with DOC Douro wines, and other diets can be catered for on request. After lunch comes a private boat ride from Pinhão. The afternoon ends at a fifth-generation family winery with a vineyard walk, DOC wines, rare aged Ports with pairings, and a closing surprise.

Penafiel
Vineyards and olive grove of a family winery more than 400 years old, with the owners as guides. A tasting with regional pairings follows, including a Port bottle opened with fire and traditional tongs.
